Thoughts from the East

Greetings Brothers,

We had a very good turn out for our December Stated Meeting and it was good to see everyone. We had several things to cover and it was my last official meeting as your Worshipful Master.

We are going to have our installation of 2010 officers on December 13th at 5:00 p.m. and we have changed the location to the west wing of the American Legion Hall so we are on the ground floor so Larry and others can attend and not fight the stairs. Hope to see many there.

Our installing Master will be Bill Ganschow and the installing Martial will be Steve Nielsen. Perry Beckler is going to be the Master for 2010; Steve Beckler, Senior Warden; Mike Ryan, Junior Warden; Mark Portwood, Senior Decan; Bruce Dolder, Junior Deacon; Dale Lenz, Senior Steward; Chris George, Junior Steward; Tom Bowersox, Chaplain; Harry Dolder, Treasurer; and Doug Darrow, Secretary.

We have begun to sell our tickets to the annual benefit show for next year. It is on April 11th and 12th. Anybody in need of tickets can contact either Larry or myself. It will again be the Penny Gilley Show.

It has been a very fast but rewarding year for me. It is a great lodge and all the brothers pitch in and help. I could not have made it through without everyone's support and I want to thank everyone. As I stated in the meeting, Harry Dolder has been my greatest supporter... not to take anything away from all who have helped. Harry would do whatever was needed and several times not even have to be asked but would be present and then move forward. Again, thanks Harry.

We had a busy month... hosting Blazing Star and also the Grand Master's Area Meeting. The lodge was full on both occasions. It was nice to see. A special thanks to Darrell Ealy for having food and snacks there for all to enjoy.

The annual Christmas party is on December 19th at the Church in Tiffin. Hope to see all there.

We will have Education night on the 17th of December and hope to see many there. We will practice opening in the 3rd so all new officers can get in the groove.

Yours in Masonry,
W.M. Dana Roggentien
