Reminds me of the days back on uncle's moisture farm on Tatooine...?
Paying out a $1 million prize is cheap compared to personally hiring 40,000 teams to work for months on a new engine. |

1. You could possibly introduce more gasses from one of the gas giants once every 1000 years or so to make up for the loss of atmosphere. It would be expensive but it depends on how much you want another planet.2. This is partly due to it's composition. If more atmosphere was added from having a comet burn up in the atmosphere, then maybe the lowest parts of Mars like the canyons might collect enough of the gasses to make a difference.3. Could possibly use a series of reflecting mirrors to direct the sunlight instead of letting it shatter evenly. This could possibly allow more light but would also be expensive and an engineering challenge. Again, it depends on how much you're willing to invest.4. This can be solved by living underground or if possible, creating an artificial magnetosphere over cities. That, however, would require plenty of power.5. This is the main problem that I agree with. The soil also lacks nitrogen which would also hurt us too. I am not sure how this can be fixed unless large amounts of nitrogen was brought from a gas giant, which would still leave us with the perchlorate. Who knows, maybe some technologies that doesn't exist today will fix that though.Keeping in mind, this is mostly Sci-Fi stuff at the moment. But it can be done in the future with the technology and determination. If we want to live there now, we will be living in self-contained environments and a dangerous environment.

Those things are really hard to find and if you do find one, it's usually wild caught. These lizards are really hard to breed in captivity. I almost adopted one of these, but I decided on a bearded dragon instead.
